Incorrect use of the HMT-1 can bring about unnecessary risk and injury e.g. muscular skeletal, eye strain and distraction in high risk environments.
Stop using the device IMMEDIATELY if you experience discomfort such as neck pain, headaches, vertigo, dizziness or nausea.

Tips for safe and effective use of the RealWear HMT-1
For your convenience we have highlighted a few key topics todo with safety.
1: Training
Ensure you have been trained on how to safety setup and wear the RealWear before operating. You can find instructional material here.
2: Eye dominance
Understand your eye dominance to reduce the chance of eye strain. Learn more about eye dominance here.
3: Neck strain
The bulk of the device weight may be supported by the head wear (hard hat, headband) however it may create additional neck and head strain if not appropriately supported.
To reduce the risk of possible eye, neck or head strain it is recommended take regular breaks and only continue to use if you do not feel discomfort.
4: Distraction
Always be aware of your environment and the WHS obligations of the site of use.
Remove eyepiece from field of vision before moving through site.
Use approved safety equipment if requested to inspect low or high areas of the site.
5: PPE:
Do not attached unauthorised accessories to the device (for examples- pens or metal clips).
Utilise camera zoom functionality to reduce the risk of strain.
Ensure you clean the device thoroughly before being used by other user. Learn how to clean the device here.
6: Environment and Weather:
Do not maintain the device in extreme temperatures for extended periods of time (-10°c to +50°c).
